Jean graduated
from Sheffield University in 1974 with a 2:1 Dual Honours
degree in Geography and Geology, with special interests in
Remote Sensing. She then worked for West Yorkshire County
Council Planning department, becoming a Senior Section Planner
in environmental issues. She has a post-graduate diploma
in Town Planning. Following
a career break to raise a family, Jean qualified in a number
of computer courses and began working for UNIGIS in 1993,
desk-top publishing the course units. She is responsible
for the e-production of the units and for the production
of the units for the UNIGIS intranet sites. She has now
become responsible for the UK UNIGIS web site.
Her interests are in web design and digital photography. She became an ECDL Expert in 2007, having gained the qualifcations in the ECDL Advanced course in word processing, presentations, databases and spreadsheets.
She is
an Associate Member of the British Computer Society.
