Evening Reception, 2nd April 2008
A buffet reception was held in the Power Hall at the Museum of Science and Industry,. This magnificent hall, in the award-winning Museum of Science and Industry in Castlefield, houses one of the largest collections of working steam mill engines in the world. The engines include a beam engine used at Haydock Colliery and the impressive 1907 McNaught engine from Firgrove Mill.
During the evening, volunteers from the museum demonstrated the machinery giving the guests an impressive display of the sights and sounds of an industrial era. Refreshments with a delicious menu were served, making the whole evening a friendly and successful start to the conference.
