Association for Geographic Information (AGI)

Link to AGI  (opens in new window)The Association for Geographic Information (AGI) is a 'Friends of UNIGIS' organisation and has been a strong supporter of our activities in a number of ways in recent years.

UNIGIS are pleased to announce that the Association for Geographic Information - AGI - has now accepted UNIGIS into the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points scheme. From this year, students who have CGeog status can use up to 20 points from the UNIGIS programme per year as part of the 35 points they must accrue on an annual basis to maintain their CGeog (GIS) status..

This will greatly benefit our current and future students, especially those that wish to apply for Chartered Geographer (GIS) status. More information can be found at:

AGI Membership Details

This year the AGI has offered individual AGI membership to UNIGIS students for £25.85 (£22 + VAT).

The offer includes four elements, which are:

  • One year's AGI membership
  • A password to the AGI members area on the AGI website to access AGI papers
  • All other normal AGI individual membership benefits
  • Beyond Chorley: Current Geographic Information Issues' by Ian Heywood (usually £9.95 for members but covered by cost of membership)
