Jianquan Cheng

Jianquan previously held position at Wuhan University, China. He obtained his Ph.D at University of Utrecht and M.Sc at ITC in Netherlands, and his B.Sc. at Shandong University in China. Before joining MMU, He has been a researcher at AMIDST (Amsterdam institute for Metropolitan and International Development Studies), Netherlands and NCG (National Center for Geocomputation), Ireland respectively for a couple of years.

He has investigated many projects on geospatial information and applications for regional and urban planning. His research interests are focused on spatial statistics, spatial analysis and modelling, spatial deicison-making support system, and geo-spatial data integration for urban applications (land use and transportation). Currently he is mainly involved in GIS for socio-econimic applications.
